5:00 PM Already?

Evening, folks! I looked up from my work and it was time for my pre-work out snack! Can't complain about that! I had a pear and a cutie.

About an hour after my snack, I realized I was way too swamped to get in my planned strength sesh. I had to quickly get over the guilt and get back to business. I know I will make up for it later this week and honestly, if I don't make it up, skipping one session is not going to kill me!

A couple hours later, hunger hit me hardcore.

It consisted of mainly leftovers:
  • Flat Out wrap (last one! Boohoo!)
  • roasted tofu from Sunday night
  • spinach
  • hummus
  • carrots
  • black beans
Wraps are so easy and fun. You can get so creative with them!

I worked my way through my afternoon snack and before I knew it, it was time to go get my little dudes.

I thought I'd share a pic of my leftovers! I know, it sounds weird and gross but with fruits and veggies (and tea leaves!), I save the stuff I don't eat during the day for our compost. We have been doing our own compost for our veggie/fruit garden but recently got a real compost bin. Before that, we've used one that The Lover built. He is very handy and has a green thumb!

We feel better about making our own fertilizer rather than buying it. Plus, it makes our veggies organic! He doesn't use pesticides or anything. We are pumped getting the garden started.

Do you have a veggie/fruit garden? What do you typically plant?

Happy Tuesday!

Good mo'nin! How are you? The sun is shining today and though it's 27 degrees, it's beautiful outside! Isn't it funny how a little sunshine just lifts the mood? I am so ready for Spring.

Because it was a chilly morning, I was craving oatmeal. Oatmeal, I've missed you!

My warm, yummy oatmeal contained:
  • 1/2 cup oatmeal
  • 1 cup water
  • 1.5 teaspoons brown sugar
I prepared the oatmeal according to instructions. When it was almost finished, I added cinnamon, a splash of coconut juice and a splash of almond milk. Once I got to work, I topped it with chocolate chips, shredded coconut, 4 chopped almonds and sliced banana. I had chocolate mint tea on the side. I'm obesessed with chocolate mint tea!

It's going to be another day of ball to the wall crazy at work so I'll check ya after my iron pumping sesh! Have a fan-freaking-tastic morning!!

I Want Your Lahv, Lahv, Lahv!

Sorry, I have "Bad Romance" stuck in my head. I am so obsessed with Lady Gaga. Or as Big Boy calls her "Baby Gaga." Isn't that cute? Sleep was so awesome last night. My feet were happy when I got in bed. Both boys were fantastic this morning. I love when they wake up bubbly! Makes for a smooth sailing morning. Also, it's been so nice and sunny. Today will be another super weather day.

Brekkie was so good, however I was struck with some brekkie envy after seeing Andrea's breakfast burrito. Seriously? Are you joking my face? That beast looks amazing! Mine did its job (though I'm thinking I'll be trying to copy that burrito) and was delish!

I just love overnight oats and chocolate mint tea. Perfection! My oats contained:
  • 1/2 cup dry oatmeal
  • 1/2 non-fat plain yogurt
  • 1/4 rice milk
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons coconut flakes
Mix all ingredients well. Place in fridge overnight. Add toppings of choice the next morning. So easy! I added 3 teaspoons of NOO dried berry mix and 7 chopped almonds.

I couldn't help but chuckle when I read Melissa's comment about no blister or injured toenail pics because I really did try to take one this morning! But I decided to not ruin your brekkie. :0)

We're doing some weight training today and I'm ready! I'm more sore today from Tuesday's sesh than I was yesterday so I'm sure it will be a rough start. I love the BURN!

What's your favorite breakfast?

Tea Time, Anyone?

Good afternoon! I am so ready for the weekend to start. This week has been out of control! My boss, Donna and I practically ran out of the office at 1130 AM to head to Inspirations Tea Room in Edmond, OK. It was beautiful! I felt like I had to whisper and sit very straight :0). We started with a heart shaped apple cinnamon scone with lemon curd. I've never had lemon curd and it was to die for!

Isn't that adorable? Donna and I ordered chocolate mint tea. It smelled heavenly. No need for sugar or sweetener. It was perfect without any extras.

For lunch, I ordered the Mediterranean panini.
On the panini was portabella mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach, sweet peppers, mozeralla cheese with pesto mayo. On the side were terra root chips, cukes, a wedge of cantaloupe, cheese and cherry tomatoes. Oh. My. Gosh. This was wonderful. I could only eat half the panini but every bite was sooo good! I can't wait for dinner so I can have the other half.

My boss surprised us by buying our lunch (yay!) and Donna surprised me by getting me some of that chocolate mint tea. It's loose leaf but I love that kind. I'll have to ration it out lol. These two ladies rock!

More than likely I won't have time to get a strength workout in tonight. We are prepping for Big Boy's party tomorrow. It will be so much fun!

I loved visiting the tea room. It's just fun and nice to be with the girls. Do you like the experience of tea rooms?
