Oats In A Jar & Monster Jam

Wowza! It's a busy morning at work but I love it! The Lover took the boys to school so I got to take it a little easy this morning. I even got to watch part of a CSI: Miami episode and was psyched to hear Nine Inch Nails in the background of the show. Yippee! I <3 NIN.

Baby Boy does seem to have a tummy bug so I'm not sure how things will work out today. We'll have to wait and see. Poor fellow. It just seems like one thing after another for my little man. No fever though, which is good.

I've been wanting to try oats in a jar for some time but haven't been able to until today! I waited until my jar of crunchy PB got low.
I prepared my oatmeal as usual using 1/2 cup oats, 1 cup water and 1.5 teaspoons brown sugar. Pour the hot/warm oatmeal in the jar and stir well. Oatmeal softens the PB and should mix right in. I noticed mine was a little thick and I knew it would only get thicker during the drive to work. I added maybe 2 tablespoons of plain almond milk and it really gave it a nice, creamy consistency. A sliced banana went on top and voila! Heaven in a jar! Maybe there was a little too much PB but it should hold me over until lunch! Nom, nom, nom. Try it because I know you'll like it!

Do you know what this is?
I will be seeing a monster truck in person at the end of the month. Our present for Big Boy's birthday is that we are taking a family trip to Texas for a Monster Jam show! I am not into monster trucks but I've learned a thing or 10 about them because Big Boy likes  is obsessed with them. The Lover and his brother took Big Boy to a show in Oklahoma City last year but we decided to go all out for his 4th. Like the drivers say, "Go big or go home!" It will be an interesting experience, I'm sure! Baby Boy will stay with Nana while The Lover, Papa, Big Boy and I see the show. The cool thing about going to Texas is that the arena is much bigger so there will be more trucks. I think there were only 6 in Oklahoma City last year.

Baby Boy is into Wow Wow Wubbzy and "cooking."

What are your kids obsessed with?

  1. When I was little I was obsessed with Chicken Licken, the colour black (somethings don't change) and surgery. I wanted to be a surgeon, and I'd watch loads of medical documentaries on tv. The amount of surgeries my poor mother watched!
Have fun at the Monster Jam show!

  2. Aiden has a slight obsession with "Madagascar". Just a teeny tiny one.
